Committee
Meet the dedicated committee members who make the Manchester Universities' Choir and Orchestra Society possible:
-
Andrew Chang (He/him)
MMU Chair
Viola and Bass
Hi! I'm so excited to get to lead CAOS, and I can't wait to meet you all and get to know everyone. A 3rd year cyber security degree apprentice, I'm usually doing way too much but when I have free time I can usually be found reading, musical theatre-ing or on the ice rink!
-
Michael Lowe (he/him)
UoM Chair
Bass
Hi! I am a final year Computer Science student and have been in CAOS for over two years! I love singing, but I love the people here even more—I can't wait to meet everyone joining!
-
Hannah Skelton (she/her)
UoM Secretary
Flute
Hi, I’ve played the flute at CAOS for two years now, since I started studying Earth Science (rocks!!) at the University of Manchester. In my free time I love reading, embroidery and replaying Wii games for the nostalgia, but CAOS is genuinely the highlight of my week and I hope as Secretary I can give a little back.
-
Evelyn Fletcher Bird (They/Them)
MMU Secretary
Soprano and Cello
I am a student at MMU in my second year studying Fashion. When I’m not in the studios I love to play the cello and sing with my guitar, especially with others as I enjoy creative collaboration. I find that music brings people closer together, this is why I love CAOS.
-
Ruby Cooke (She/her)
UoM Treasurer
Cello and Alto
Hi! I’m this year’s treasurer alongside Ellie. I study chemistry at UOM and I love going to the pub, watching films, knitting and sewing. You can usually spot me cycling up Oxford Road - sometimes with my cello!
-
Ellie Harrison (She/her)
MMU Treasurer
Violin
I'm a student studying Fashion at MMU and I play the violin in CAOS. I love playing and being apart of an orchestra makes it feel a lot less scary.
-
Noah Gribbon (He/Him)
Inclusions Officer
The Clarinet
Hello! My name is Noah and I’ve been in CAOS for 4 years now! I love being a part of CAOS not only for the amazing music we play, but also for the brilliant mates I’ve made over the years.
-
Eve Clark (She/They)
Social Secretary
Alto
I’m going into my second year at MMU studying History! I enjoy running, cooking, going to the pub and of course singing as an alto in choir! CAOS has helped me become so much more confident and I’ve made so many amazing friends in the past year because of it. I’m really looking forward to being Social Sec this year :D
-
Lissy Carncross (they/them)
Social Secretary
Soprano
Computer science graduate and aerialist with no concept of gender. Always on CAOS recruitment mode and ready for a drink!
-
Niall Trowsdale Stannard
Publicity Secretary
Hi, I'm Niall! I'm the man behind your phone screen right now, editing and designing everything digital for CROS. And, the life of the party!
-
Ethan Maggs (He/him)
Residential Manager
Tenor
I love everyone no matter who you are and welcome you to CAOS. Unless you’re an Arsenal fan…
-
Ryan Hutton (They/them)

An English teacher from Leeds with a passion for rock drum rhythms in emotional ballads from musicals.
-
Joel McCarton-Smith (They/them)
Orchestra Librarian
Bass clarinet
Hi, I’m Joel, I’m your orchestra librarian, and bass clarinettist. In my free time I study plants and soils in living walls, but my true calling in life is printing sheet music for CAOS.
-
Hannah Lucy Craven (She/her)
Choir Librarian
Soprano
I'm a student studying animal behaviour at MMU and absolutely love music, joining a choir was a must-do for me. I'm a soprano, and honestly, the choir folk are like my second family- such a warm and friendly bunch! It's the highlight of my week. Super excited to meet and sing with new peeps this year!
-
Kate Marshall (She/Her)
New Members’ Representative
First Soprano
A bubbly and hyperactive musician, I've really found my tribe in choirs and groups of musicians and Manchester has the best and most colourful scene for me to feel at home within.
