Orchestra Conductor
Hi, I’m Chesca the Principal Conductor for CAOS this year. I’m currently taking a year out of education after completing an MA in Music at the University of York, where I conduced various groups at the University as well as completing the Sorrell Women’s Conducting programme at the Royal Academy of Music.
This year alongside conducting the CAOS Orchestra, I’m also conducting the University of Manchester Medic’s Orchestra. I am really looking forward to working with CAOS so far and can't wait to see what we can achieve this year!
About the Orchestra
CAOS orchestra is a non-auditioned and open to all players (not just students). We recommend an approximate Grade 5 standard of playing but this is not a necessity. The orchestra rehearses weekly during university term time at St. Chrysostom's Church.
Our orchestra rehearsals are held on Tuesdays, 8pm until 10.15pm, led by our conductor, Francesca Peilober-Richardson.
If you don’t have your instrument in Manchester with you then don’t fear, we recommend trying Johnny Roadhouse or Forsyth’s for instrument hire. So come along and give it a go, even if it’s been a while since you last played!
